April 16, 2014

I took my son Travis Story an ARMY Combat Vet to The VA LONG BEACH HEALTHCARE SYSTEM 5901 E 7TH ST, LONG BEACH, CA 90822. Travis. S has been in and out of the psych ward many times (all they did was switch up his meds and push him out). On this day he had lost all hope and did not want to live like this anymore. He was desperate, yet had enough support to acknowledge that he needed help. On APRIL 16TH AT 7:00P.M. We escorted Travis Story into the emergency room of LONG BEACH VA and the current nurses told us they would admit him and that we could go home and no longer worry. We wrote our contact info on their paperwork and they said they would call if any problems occurred.
Some time passes and the resident doctor gives a half dosage of one of Travis’s medications and walked off (either the staff is inadequate or under-staffed not to check his current MED records to match or prescribe something greater if needed), where has accountability gone? Between the FUNDED VA HEALTHCARE SYSTEM or the PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and the VET’s used like guinea pigs it’s not hard to see who suffers the most in this broken union.
At midnight after trying to walk into the psych ward himself and then being escorted back, only to be informed that there were no beds available for him due to incidents in the psych ward not involving him. Upon attempting to leave, he may very well have given up. Travis Story was arrested for terrorist threats and has been in jail at TWIN TOWERS CORRECTIONAL FACILITY where he was held captive.

My son went into the ARMY a happy bright young man and came back to us a totally different person (angry, full of nightmares and lonely). Recently the only time I’ve seen him happy is around other vets. I guess that's his current comfort, other VET’s that support each other and understand one another. That is why COOLHANDVETS and its supporters are asking you; the VETERAN from all ages to come and show your support by either sharing VETERAN DEMONIZATION & JUDICIAL ABUSE AWARENESS or by showing up to COURT ROOM APPOINTMENTS for COURT ROOM monitoring.

The sad thing about all this; is that he is not alone, there are far too many vets out there that are getting the same treatment and it's got to STOP, we have got to start taking care of our vets. Thank you for you precious time (time spent free and not in a cage).

jury nullification, the idea that jurors have the right to refuse to find a defendant guilty because they believe the underlying law is unjust, or because the conduct of law enforcement in the case was unjust in some manner even if the Court didn’t find that it violated the Defendant’s rights. Its been part of the American jury system from the beginning, and has often been a valuable tool in protecting people from overreaching by the state and law enforcement
